BF3 does not have proton but still acts as an acid and reacts with NH3. Why is it so?

ANSWERS

BF3 has an incomplete octate in the form of vacant p-orbital and so,it is an electron deficient compound and lone pair acceptor.Hence,it acts as Lewis acid and is highly reactive with lone pair electron rich compounds like NH3 by accepting their lone pairs.
