JEE Main 2025 Syllabus & Pattern Update

Exam Pattern Changes for 2025

• Total of 75 compulsory questions (25 each from PCM); no optional questions now (Section B mandatory).
• Numerical Value Questions (NVQs) now carry negative marking (-1 for incorrect).
• Tie-break rules updated: first Maths, then Physics, Chemistry, and finally correct/incorrect ratio.

Deleted Syllabus Topics

Certain topics have been removed to streamline preparation:

• Physics: Scalars & vectors, unit vectors, vector addition and products.
• Chemistry: States of matter, surface chemistry, s‑block, hydrogen, environmental chemistry, polymers, and isolated metal principles.
• Mathematics: Mathematical induction, reasoning, sets & relations, some trigonometry and probability units.

Subject Weightage & Focus Areas

• Mathematics: Highest weightage (~35%)—emphasis on Calculus, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry.
• Physics & Chemistry: Each around 22–23% weightage; focus on foundational concepts like Mechanics, Physical Chemistry, Thermodynamics, etc.

Preparation Tips for JEE Main 2025

1. Download & study from the official syllabus PDF from NTA.
2. Focus on high-weightage chapters especially in Maths (Cal‑Algebra‑Geometry).
3. Practice NVQs with negative marking in mind—accuracy is key.
4. Ignore deleted topics to save time, but revise if pressed for confidence.
5. Follow updated tie-break rules during mock tests.
