Why Most NEET Aspirants Fail To Crack NEET Exam

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET is an entrance examination in India, for students who wish to study any graduate medical course or a dental course in government or private medical colleges in India. NEET is mandatory for medical and dental colleges. It is a single entrance exam for all medical colleges, whether government or private. This exam was introduced in the year 2013, by the then Minister of Human Resource Development.

Most NEET aspirants fail to crack the NEET exam not because they are not intelligent enough, but because of poor planning and preparation. In this blog post, we will discuss some of the main reasons why most NEET aspirants fail to crack the exam. With proper planning and preparation, you can increase your chances of success.

LACK OF PROPER PLANNING AND PREPARATION

One of the main reasons why NEET aspirants fail to crack the exam is because they do not understand the exam pattern and syllabus properly. As a result, they are not able to plan and prepare for the exam in an effective manner.

It is important to note that NEET is a highly competitive exam and thus, it is important to have a clear understanding of the exam pattern and syllabus before starting your preparation. Many students make the mistake of assuming that NEET is just like any other medical entrance exam and thus, they do not pay much attention to understanding the exam pattern and syllabus. This often leads to them making silly mistakes during their preparation which costs them dearly on the day of the exam.

Thus, it is essential that you take some time out to understand the NEET exam pattern and syllabus thoroughly before starting your preparation. Only when you have a clear understanding of what is expected of you, will you be able to prepare effectively for the exam.

NOT STUDYING FROM THE RIGHT BOOKS AND RESOURCES

Another reason why most of the NEET aspirants fail is because they do not study from the right books and resources. There are literally thousands of forces available for NEET preparation but not all of them are good quality resources. As a result, many students end up wasting their time on studying from irrelevant or substandard books which does more harm than good. Itis extremely important that you select only those books which have been specifically written for NEET preparation as per the new syllabus and pattern.

Additionally, it would also be helpful to read reviews of various books before finalizing on anyone specifically so that you can get an idea about its content quality, etc. Once you have the right books, you should also make sure that you are using them in an effective manner and not just reading them from cover to cover without understanding the concepts properly. Many students make the mistake of mugging up the information without actually understanding it which is not going to help them in any way on the day of the exam.

LACK OF MOTIVATION AND CONSISTENCY

It is very common for NEET aspirants to lose motivation after their first few attempts. This is because they feel that they are not good enough and that they will never be able to crack the exam. However, it is important to remember that everyone has to start somewhere. Just because you have not been able to crack the exam yet does not mean that you never will. The key is to keep pushing yourself and never give up on your dreams.

NOT STICKING TO THE STUDY PLAN

One of the main reasons why NEET aspirants fail is because they do not stick to their study plan. They either get too lazy or get distracted by other things and end up not studying at all. This is a huge mistake as it will only make it harder for you to crack the exam in the long run. It is important to be disciplined and stick to your study plan no matter what happens.

TAKING TOO MANY BREAKS

Another reason why NEET aspirants fail is because they take too many breaks while studying. This includes taking weekends off, going on vacations, etc. While it is important to take breaks occasionally, you should not do so excessively as it will only make it harder for you to focus when you actually need to study.

POOR TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS

One of the most important skills required to crack any exam is time management. Yet, a vast majority of NEET aspirants fail to manage their time properly, which ultimately leads to their downfall.

There are 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week. Out of these 168 hours, an average person spends around 56 hours sleeping, 8 hours working/studying, 2 hours eating, 2 hours travelling and the rest on other activities. This leaves us with only 50 hours per week for self-study.

If we divide this 50 hours evenly among the subjects, we get around 10 hours per subject per week. However, most students don’t study all subjects equally. They often spend more time on the subjects they like or find easy and less time on the ones they don’t. As a result, they don’t get adequate time to revise all the topics properly before the exam.

Time management is not just about studying more; it’s also about studying smart. It’s important to make use of every minute in an effective way so that you can learn maximum concepts in minimum time. For this, you need to have a clear understanding of your strengths and weaknesses and plan your studies accordingly. You should also make sure that you take regular breaks between studies so that your mind doesn’t feel overloaded and you can retain whatever you have studied for longer periods of time.

SPENDING TOO MUCH TIME ON ONE TOPIC

While it’s important to have a clear understanding of all the topics included in the syllabus, some students tend to spend too much time on one particular topic at the expense of others. As a result, they may score well in that particular topic but lag behind in others where they haven’t studied enough. This often happens with students who like certain subjects or find them easy to understand. They tend to focus more on those subjects and devote less time to others thinking that they can easily catch up later on. But by the time they realize their mistake, it’s usually too late as there isn’t enough time left for them to cover all the topics adequately before the exam date arrives.

So, if you want to crack NEET exam then it is very important that you study all subjects equally and don’t spend too much time on any one particular topic at expense of others because ultimately what matters is your overall performance in the exam not just in one particular subject area.

NOT BEING ABLE TO PRIORITIZE PROPERLY

Another common mistake made by NEET aspirants is not being able prioritize properly. When there are so many things competing for our attention, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and not know where to start. This often leads students wasting valuable time trying figure out what needs be done first instead actually doing something. So, it is very important be able prioritize your tasks according available resources like Time, Money etc.

For example, If you only have 4 months left preparation then clearly giving 6 months each Physics, Chemistry & Biology won't be possible hence its better give more importance & emphasis those areas which fall under high weight age category or where currently lagging behind as compared other two.

If you are aspiring to crack the NEET exam, it's important that you understand the exam pattern and syllabus, have a proper study schedule, and study from the right books and resources. Additionally, you need to be motivated and consistent in your studies, and manage your time properly.

All the best for your NEET preparations!
